Spicy Sweet Potato Fry Recipe

Recently I’ve been trying a lot of healthy recipes that I find online or on Instagram. Since moving out on my own, I’ve definitely tried to cook more than I did at home so whenever I see a recipe that looks interesting I always want to try it out. Recently, the healthy recipes I’ve been finding haven’t come out that great – not sure if it’s me or the healthy ingredients but they’ve just been pretty bleh. Meanwhile the non healthy Mac n cheeses and pastas always come out amazing.

I LOVE sweet potato and I’m especially obsessed with sweet potato fries (I mean who isn’t right) and always sub for sweet potato fries whenever I’m out. However, knowing that fries are still fried – are they really that healthy? Scrolling through my Instagram feed on the train the other day, I came across this recipe and was bored tonight so figured I’d give it a try. I’m AMAZED at how good these are so wanted to share with those who follow my blog because it’s too good to not pass up.

I will admit I was a bit hesitant especially when thinking about the chia seeds but they were amazing – and they’re baked and use all clean ingredients so they’re healthy!

Ingredients

Sweet Potatoes

Coconut Oil

Sea Salt

Chia Seeds

Pepper

Paprika

Cayenne Pepper

Red Pepper

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees. Wash, peel, and cut sweet potatoes and add to a large mixing bowl. Add a little coconut oil (too much will make the fries soggy), a lot of sea salt and pepper. Add paprika, cayenne pepper, red pepper and 1-2 tbsp of chia seeds. Combine. Place on a baking sheet and bake for ~30 minutes. Flip halfway through.
